Friends of SAGB
Friends of SAGB is how businesses, organisations and individuals show their support for the Association’s Annual Conference and for the work we do throughout the year on behalf of the shellfish sector.
Our 56th Annual Conference and Fundraising Dinner takes place on 14 and 15 July 2026 at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge. Income from the conference underpins everything the Association does, so supporting it supports our work for shellfish producers, processors and coastal communities across the year.
We are aiming to raise a further £10,000 through the scheme this year. You can become a Friend whether or not you are able to attend, and whether or not you are an SAGB member. Every Friend is recognised on this page and in the conference biography booklet circulated to all delegates.

Cyprus Fisheries
Cyprus Fisheries have been trading at Billingsgate Market, London, for many years — from Alaska to the Baltic and Grimsby to Hai Phong. Cyprus Fisheries specialise in supplying the finest, freshest sustainable and seasonal fish and shellfish from across the UK and sourced worldwide. Established since 1990, our reputation for quality and service has grown as we have grown as a company, supplying world famous restaurants and major hotels with fish and shellfish that exceeds their expectations in its quality and cost. Our reputation is such that we supply not just UK based clients but also ship our fish and shellfish to buyers from around the world. Furthermore, our global buying presence allows us to carefully select our stock. This ensures we can offer many varieties of fish and shellfish.
“We are delighted to support the SAGB.”

Offshore Shellfish
Offshore Shellfish farms mussels in Lyme Bay, Devon, between 3 and 6 miles offshore. This pioneering project is pushing the boundaries on where mussels can be farmed, with boats and equipment designed to withstand harsh sea conditions. We also care passionately about the marine environment, and together with scientists from the University of Plymouth, undertake regular surveys to understand what happens on and around the mussel lines. These studies, reported in peer reviewed papers, show that the farm has a positive effect on biodiversity and surrounding fish stocks, and is helping to restore former mussel beds to the area.
We are proud to produce millions of meals of sustainable seafood every year!
And as we like to say, ‘Eat Mussels, Save the Planet!’
Biosystems — a division of Tropical Marine Centre Ltd

With more than 30,000 commercial UV sterilisers manufactured to date, we bring proven engineering to shellfish depuration and live holding applications. Our TMC Shellfish Depuration Systems are built to the standard Seafish shallow-tank design, streamlining approval for operators. From compact plug-and-play units to fully bespoke configurations, we design and supply complete solutions including UV sterilisation, protein skimming, ozone treatment, temperature control, and continuous water quality monitoring.
For live shellfish holding, our centralised filtration systems integrate with specialist insulated holding tanks for lobster and crab, with inverter-driven chillers and remote monitoring as standard options. Whether upgrading an existing facility or specifying a new build, TMC brings the technical depth to get it right first time.
